Bhavnagar University (Gujarat - India).

2. To display the projects submitted by students.

3. To present the outcomes of the experiment on Blended Learning.

Project Blended Learning 2012

This site is run by Department of English, Bhavnagar University. The site is designed by Dr. Dilip Barad with specific purpose to organise projects submitted by the students. On this site you will find all the Google Sites submitted by students as a part of the partial fulfilment of continuous internal assessment. The students were supposed to us Blogger for assignments, Slideshare for presentations and YouTube for videos of their presentations.

This project was carried out with dual purpose. Firstly, to fulfil one of the objectives of the UGC to have innovations in teaching - learning with the help ICT integration. Secondly, it was to experiment with blended learning. We wanted to experiment the feasibility of ICT integration with traditional face-to-face teaching method. The google group was used for instructions, sharing, collaboration and build eCommunication among faculty and students. By clicking on the image of a student you will be able to see the work done by her/him during four semesters from June 2010 to April 2012.

By June 2012, the outcome of this project will be available here.

Story Writing

iBlog - Image Blog and Learning

pBlog: Powerpoint slides and Blog

pBlog stands for Powerpoint presentation on blogs. There is no direct link or a programme where in we can embed or link ppt on blogs. But there is one site which can help us in presenting our ppt slides on blogs. Before I say a word about that site, let me write a few lines on ppt.
PPT has been explored by several researchers and teachers as ICT tool in effective teaching. In the classroom enviornment, we can have immence opportunities in using video, audio, graphics, images, charts etc through ppt slides. Movies, plays, audio recitation of poems, graphical presentation of parts of speech and other grammar activities can be used in remarkably exceptional way.
Well, if this classroom-ICT-tool is synergised with web-ICT-tool, it can help us in exploring wider horizons. Now, let me come to the website about which I skipped writing earlier. The site is welknown and most of you must be using it. http://www.slideshare.net/. This site gives us free space to upload our ppt presentations. Well, that is not as important as what else it does. It helps us to embed ppt presentation from slideshare.net to http://www.blogger.com/. It is this synergy between the classroom tool and web tool which gives us immence opportunity to explore wider vistas in ELT.

Learning through vBlog

1. How to begin converstion?
a. 'Hello' or 'Hi' are some of the common starters. If the person does not respond or is busy with some work, 'excuse me' is an expression to start with a conversation.
b. 'Good Morning' is also common conversation starter.
c. Write three diologues to begin a conversation.
2. Contracted forms of Q-word:
a. Here is the conversation, 'How's' is used for 'How is'.
b. 'When will' is spoken as 'when'll'; 'Who is' as 'Who's' (Sounds similer to 'whose')
c. Write 5 questions and practice speaking them in contracted forms.
